Following the instructions of Commissioner, Food Safety Madhya Pradesh and Collector, the team of Food Safety Administration conducted an inspection and collected samples from different eateries located at Garha, Gulaua Chowk, Tilhari, Ekta Market and Sadar Chowpatty. The team members collected samples of paneer, chickpeas, maida, gram flour, burger from Gul Paratha and Snacks Center Tilhari, Kulhad Chai and Bakery, Yadav Juice Center and ice cream from Subhan Cakes Bakers Ice Cream located at Sadar Chowpatty, Noodles Momos Center and Kolkata Corner, gram flour sev and Pani Puri water from Mayank Chaat Center Sadar, namkeen from Samrat Chaat, phulki water from Shri Sai Chaat Center, paneer from Manish Dosa Center.
 
It may be mentioned that in view of the ongoing scorching summer, instructions were issued to take special hygiene related precautions in food production and sale. On the spot, food safety officers provided training to all street food vendors and junk food stalls’ owners of the area under Schedule 4 of food safety and directed them to display food safety display boards. Food Safety Officer Pankaj Srivastava said that the Food Safety Administration Jabalpur is continuously taking action against junk food, street and fast food.
 
In case, the foods are being prepared in an unhygienic condition in the stalls, or the license is not displayed, or the food safety display board is not displayed, then the case will be presented in the court. All food samples are being sent to the State Food Laboratory in Bhopal for testing. If the food samples are found to be substandard in the test, then strict action will be taken against the guilty persons and the case will be presented in the court as per the rules under the Food Safety Act.
