The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has released its weather forecast for Madhya Pradesh, indicating the onset of intense heat, according to scientists. While western disturbances and a trough line may bring clouds and light rain to some districts, cities like Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain and Gwalior are expected to experience scorching temperatures, creating fire from the sky conditions.
On Thursday, all cities in the State recorded daytime temperatures between 40 and 44.4 degrees Celsius. Khajuraho registered the highest temperature at 44.4 degrees Celsius. A heatwave affected Chhindwara. A change in weather is expected from Saturday. Currently, a western disturbance is active as a trough around Pakistan.
A north-south trough extends from central Chhattisgarh through Vidarbha, Telangana, interior
Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu to the Gulf of Mannar. Hot winds from neighbouring states are further intensifying the heat in Madhya Pradesh. Difficult to venture outdoors in Khajuraho, Nowgaon, Panna, and Sidhi. From Saturday, increased moisture due to the influence of the north-south trough is likely to cause cloud cover and scattered light rain in many cities. Maximum temperatures may begin to decrease.
However, in the first week of May, temperatures in cities like Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, and Gwalior could reach 43 degrees Celsius, and 45 degrees Celsius or higher in Khajuraho, Nowgaon, Panna, and Sidhi. A heatwave is predicted to persist for 15 to 20 days in May. Madhya Pradesh weather forecast April 26.
The Weather Department’s forecast for Saturday states that a western disturbance exists as a trough in the middle tropospheric westerly winds. Under its influence, heatwave conditions are likely in Burhanpur, Khandwa, Ratlam, Shivpuri, Datia, Chhindwara, Seoni, Balaghat, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, Niwari, and Pandhurna districts. Special advice has been issued for farmers, including recommendations for regular but light irrigation (in the morning or evening), mulching to reduce evaporation, light weeding, and regular crop monitoring. On April 27, light rain is possible in Chhindwara, Pandhurna, Seoni, Mandla, and Balaghat. A heatwave alert is in effect for Satna, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, Niwari, Morena, Sheopur, Neemuch, Mandsaur, Jhabua, and Alirajpur.
