Sangh, on Friday held a peaceful gathering to protest the
recent terror attack in Pahalgam,
Jammu and Kashmir, where
innocent civilians were brutally killed by terrorists. During the
event, they lit candles in memory of the victims and offered
condolences to the bereaved
families.
Speaking on the occasion,
State President Robert Martin
and State Coordinator James
Anthony said such heinous acts
cannot divide people on religious grounds. “
We stand united in love, humanity and brotherhood. We support the government in taking strict action
against terrorism to ensure
peace and harmony in the country,” they said.
The Christian community
people condemned the cowardly act and urged the government to take stringent steps
to deliver justice to the victims
and prevent such attacks in the
future.
At the end people also
observed a two-minute silence for peace and solace of the
departed souls. Muslim community members hold protest
march: Similarly, irked over
brutal killing of 27 innocent
people in Pahalgam by terrorists, a number of members of
the Muslim community held
a protest march, on Friday.
Wearing black armbands during the rally, which began from
Mansoorabad Milloniganj and
passed through important
thoroughfares, people raised
anti-Pakistan slogans.
They
also demanded capital punishment for those responsible.
Community leaders said that
thousands of tourists had gone
to Kashmir’s Pahalgam to
spend their summer holidays.
They were brutally killed by
terrorists. They said Muslim
community strongly condemned the coward incident
and expressed anger over the
senseless violence. They also
urged the Modi government
to take immediate action to
arrest and punish the culprits.
Prominent in the protest were
Haji Kadir Soni, Hafiz Haji
Ghulam Moinuddin, former
Corporator Shaban Mansoori
and others.
Condolence meeting held at Shri Siddh
Shaktipith Kalidham: A condolence meeting was conducted at Shri Siddh Shaktipith
Kalidham Gaurighat in memory of the victims of the
Pahalgam terror attack in
Anantnag district. Swami
Pyarenand Maharaj, founder
of the temple and Dwadash
Peethadheeshwar, condemned cowardly attack by
terrorists. He said such actions
can never be accepted by a
civilised society. Devotees and
disciples including DOP Rao,
Anil Usrete, Bunty Maharaj,
Sushil Soni, Pradeep Chauhan
and others paid tributes.
