Raunak Hedau, who contributed 60 runs with the bat, picked up three wickets for 16 runs as Vidarbha U-14 boys staged a remarkable comeback and clinch a vital 21-run first-innings lead against Chhattisgarh in their Raj Singh Dungarpur Trophy (CZ) match in Dehradun. Chasing Vidarbha’s tally of 249, Chhattisgarh were cruising at 150-1 at one stage but lost their way thereafter to be all out for 228 runs. The match ended in a tame draw but Vidarbha picked up three points from the game.

 

After struggling in the first session on the final day today, Vidarbha bowlers came into their own and picked up nine wickets for 78 runs as Chhattisgarh collapsed. Hedau (3-16), Sparsh Dhanvajir (3-37), Hiren Trivedi (2-17) and Manav Wakode (2-46) shared the wickets. Raunak was adjudged the Player of the Match for his all-round show. Result: Match drawn; Vidarbha won on 1st innings lead.
