Travelling between Nagpur and tier two cities within the country is set to get easier as the Government has developed a large number of regional airports across the country. Star Air will be launching the Nagpur-Kolhapur flight from May 15 to October 25, 2025. The ticket bookings to the new flight have already started. The new the flight will depart from Nagpur at 10 am and arrive in Kolhapur at 11:30 am.

 

The return flight will leave Kolhapur at 12 pm and reach Nagpur by 1:30 pm. The service will operate five days a week on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. The aircraft will offer 12 business class and 64 economy class seats. Apart from this, Indigo has resumed the two daily flights on the Nagpur-Mumbai and Nagpur-Pune routes, recently. The Nagpur-Mumbai flight departs from Nagpur at 4.55 pm and arrive in Mumbai at 6:50 pm. This flight has a capacity of 70 seats. Accordingly, the Nagpur-Pune flight departs from Nagpur at 3.45 pm and arrive in Pune at 5 pm.

 

This flight has a capacity of 180 seats. Alok Vaidya, Chairman of Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI), Vidarbha Chapter elaborated that there are several developments that would boost air travel from Nagpur. First the recarpeting work of the runway has been completed at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport Nagpur. The runway which was blocked for air traffic from 10 am to 6 pm is now open to take flights. Also, the operations of Nagpur airport is set to be handed over to GMR Group on April 1. With these new developments airlines like Akasa Air are expected to start operations from Nagpur in the near future. Airlines operating from Nagpur are also planning to open new routes and start additional flights from Nagpur.
