Nagpur beat Yavatmal to lift Vid-level hockey title

Nagpur blanked Yavatmal to emerge champions of the Vidarbha level hockey tournament organised by Vidarbha Hockey Association at its ground. In a one-sided final, Nagpur boys thrashed Yavatmal by four goals to nil to claim the title. It was Yash Bamnel who scored a brace in the match for Ngapur. Bamnel sounded the board in the 13th minute to put Nagpur ahead. The second goal was scored by Nikhil Sahu in the 16th minute while Himanshu Nagdave stretched the lead in the 21st minute. Bamnel then scored his second and team’s fourth goal to complete the rout. In the third place match Bhandara defeated Wardha 5-2.
 
Yavatmal’s Lavanya (Surya) Solanki was declared as the best player of the tournament. Aman Sahu, Yash Dalvi and Yashodeep Pantawane won the man of the match awards while the best goalkeeper award went to Lalit Nimbalkar. Kinshuk Waghmare (Best Forward) and Shaurya Rathod ( Best Defender). were the other award winners. MLA Abhijit Wanjari was the chief guest. On this occasion, Sanjay Lokhande, VHA Administrator Trilokinath Sidhra, coordinator, Krishna Joshi, Adv Niranjan Jadhav, Vidarbha Women’s Hockey Association Secretary Sunil Madne, Vivekji Siriah, Satishji Fulsuge, Shahid Syed, Shahanwas Khan, Vaibhav Tijare, Gaurav Raut, Sagar Raut, Prasad Kadu, Shrishikesh Mahalle and others were also present.
