In a world where many students depend on coaching classes, 15-year-old Sheherbano Husain has proved that determination and self-study can lead to success. The bright student from the city scored an outstanding 97 per cent in the ICSE Class 10 board exams without any tuition or extra classes. Her success shows that with focus, confidence and a clear goal, anything is possible even without coaching.
A student of MSB Institute of Education, Sheherbano said, “I didn’t join any coaching. I studied on my own.”
Her father, Shabbir Husain, is
a retired mechanical engineer, while her mother, Alfiya, is a fashion designer.
Her elder brother, Adnan, is studying BTech in Computer Science and inspired her to aim for a similar path.
Now, Sheherbano is preparing for the JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) to get into a top engineering college. She has joined ICAT for support and hopes to study Computer Engineering or Data Science in the future.
When asked why she chose the ICSE board, she said, “ICSE challenges you. It helps build strong concepts which are useful for competitive exams.” “Believe in yourself, work hard and you can achieve your dreams,”she said.
