NAGPUR’S Nilesh Mate has been appointed as head coach of the Indian women’s volleyball team for the AVC Women’s Volleyball Nations Cup that is going to be hosted by Vietnam from June 7. It is a great opportunity for Mate, a FIVB Level 2 Coach and a National Coach, to showcase his latent qualities at an international level. While assigning him the top job, the Indian Volleyball Federation hope that Mate will succeed in bringing a medal from the top-notch team. Mate, a Joint Secretary of District Volleyball Association Nagpur, has been congratulated by a host of dignitaries including Maharashtra Volleyball Association President Vijay Dangre, Secretary Sanjay Naik, Joint Secretary and Executive Member Nilesh Jagtap and Arvind Gavai. Mate thanked them all for their blessings, co-operation, guidance and best wishes, and hope that the strong office-bearers of state association will continue to help players, umpires and coaches.
