EOW has raided the Narsinghpur-based residence of US Parashar, Executive Engineer, MP East Zone Vigyan Kendra Limited Katni in case of disproportionate assets. During raid, property worth about Rs 5.5 crore was recovered from the accused’s residence and factory. The EOW Jabalpur team has received the complaint against Uma Shankar Parashar, Executive Engineer, Madhya Pradesh East Regional Electricity Distribution Company, Katni, regarding the allegations of acquiring property disproportionate to his income and conducted further investigation. After investigation of the complaint, crime number-89/25 section 13, (1) (B), 13 (2), Prevention of Corruption Act 2018 was registered against the accused on May 8, 2025. On Saturday, the Economic Offences Wing, Jabalpur unit has conducted search proceedings at the accused’s residence located at the Housing Board Colony, Narsinghpur and factory located at Village-Binair (Niwari), Tehsil-Kareli, District Narsinghpur. During the search, information about movable and immovable properties has been received.

 

This included two luxurious houses in Housing Board Colony, Narsinghpur, including one three-storey and one two-storey house whose value was around Rs 1.5 crore. Also, a common biochemical waste factory was found in village Binair (Niwari), Tehsil-Kareli, District Narsinghpur, whose value was around Rs 3.0 crore. Apart from this a total of 06 vehicles including 05 four-wheelers and 01 two-wheeler having cost of Rs. 60 lakh, gold and silver jewelry worth Rs. 18,16,955 was also recovered from the residence of the accused. Simultaneously, an inventory of household goods was made which was found to be worth approximately Rs. 36,43,000. Apart from this, information about 9 bank accounts has also been obtained, regarding which investigation is being conducted. The search was conducted by Deputy Superintendent of Police, Economic Offences Wing, Jabalpur unit, AV Singh, DSP, Swarnjeet Singh Dhami, DSP Laxmi Yadav, DSP, Mukesh Khamparia, Inspector Prerna Pandey, Head Constable Abhinav, Nitesh Dubey, Ram Anugrah Tiwari, Ram Janam Yadav, Qayum Khan, Constable Sumit Pandey, Nadeek Sheikh, Rajesh Vishwakarma, Sagir Khan and Jasleen Kaur.
