Internationally acclaimed chef Vishnu Manohar was recently honoured in San Francisco by the Human Relations Commission of Santa Clara County, California, for his Outstanding Invaluable Service to society. Known for his culinary excellence and social commitment, Manohar received a certificate of appreciation from Commissioner Narendra Pathak for his efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic, including distributing 1,200 free meals daily for 42 days.
His introduction of traditional Marathi cuisine at official events, such as the swearing-in of County Collector Annette Ramirez, was also celebrated. Marathi dishes will now be served monthly at the county office. Manohar credited his USA team for the achievement, expressing pride in promoting Indian culture abroad and supporting the local community.
