In a continued effort to ensure thorough cleaning of the city's drains and water channels before the monsoon, Mayor Malti Rai conducted rigorous inspections across various zones. On Wednesday, the Mayor reviewed the cleaning work of drains under Zone No. 08, including Mata Mandir, Hajela Hospital, Pipleshwar Mandir, Police Line, Shabari Nagar, Sindhu Bhavan, and Panchsheel Nagar, as well as areas under Zone No. 10 such as Bawadiyakala. She directed officials to complete the cleaning of all drains well before the pre-monsoon campaign’s deadline, ensure unimpeded water flow and drainage, continuously monitor the drains even after cleaning, and promptly clean any drains where necessary.
The Mayor instructed that no water-logging should occur anywhere in the city during the rains. She also stated that the cleaning work of the drains that are yet to be addressed under the campaign should be started immediately, and the waste/debris, silt, etc., removed during the drain cleaning process should be promptly lifted and transported to the disposal site.
Members of the Mayor’s Council R K Singh Baghel and Sushma Babisa, Zone President Babulal Yadav, Councilors Praveen Saxena, Yogendra Singh Chauhan, Guddu, Devanshu Kansana, Assistant Commissioner Kirti Chauhan, along with other corporation officials and dignitaries, were present during the inspection.
