In a shocking incident in Nishatpura, two cows were stolen from a cattle shed, and one was slaughtered. Acting swiftly, the Nishatpura police apprehended five suspects within hours of the crime. The accused, with prior arrests under the Gauvansh Act, now face charges under the Animal Cruelty Act and cow slaughter laws. According to Nishatpura Police, Awadhesh Yadav, who runs a dairy business in Palasi village, discovered the theft on the morning of May 16.
 
Hearing distressed sounds from his cattle shed, he found two cows missing. Searching nearby, he spotted individuals slaughtering a cow in a field. When he confronted them, the culprits fled, leaving the cow dead in a bloodied state. Following a tip-off, the police conducted a manhunt and arrested all five accused by evening. The suspects, identified as Tosif and Rehan from Karond (Nishatpura), Almin and Sahil from Jahangirabad, and Arbaz from Kotwali, were nabbed after a thorough search. Tools used in the slaughter were recovered, and police searched the accused’s homes for further evidence. The police are interrogating the suspects to uncover the motive behind the crime and any additional involvement. A case has been registered, and investigations are ongoing.
