A CombineD team of Crime Branch and Lordganj police busted a gang involved in illegal trade of sharp-edged weapons, apprehended two accused and seized eight knives from them. The arrested have been identified as Anil Ahirwar (19), a resident of Mahavir Nagar, Bhukamp Colony in Sanjeevani Nagar and Moinuddin (19), a resident of Motinala in Hanumantal.
SHO of Lordganj police station, Naval Arya informed that on the night of May 15, 2024, the Crime Branch received information that Anil Ahirwar, a resident of Bhukamp Colony brought button knives from Pushkar, Ajmer through a friend and was planning to sell them in Scheme No. 41, Yadav Colony area.
Acting on this information, a combined team started a search and trapped the identified man as Anil Ahirwar. In his search, police seized three button-activated folding knives in the right pocket of his trousers.
During questioning, he admitted to purchasing knives from another man Moinuddin, for Rs 1800. Moinuddin allegedly sourced the knives from Ajmer.
Following this lead, police team raided the area near the railway quarters in Ganesh Nagar, where Moinuddin was waiting for a buyer. He was arrested and found to be in possession of five button-activated Chinese knives
in the right pocket of his trousers.
Lordganj police have seized eight knives and both accused have been booked under Section 25 of the Arms Act for illegal possession and trade of prohibited weapons. The successful arrest and seizure were made possible due to coordinated efforts of Yadav Colony Outpost In-charge, SI, Anil Kumar, Constable Sachin Jain and under the direction of SHO, Crime Branch Shailesh Mishra. The Crime Branch team included SI, Chandrakant Jha, ASIs Dhananjay Singh and Prashant Solanki, Head Constables Virendra Singh and Atal Janghela, Constables Rajesh Mishra, Trilok, Rajesh, Vinay, and Cyber Cell Constable Ratnesh.
