Across the State, people as well as Opposition Congress are up in arms against the BJP leader and Minister, Vijay Shah, but it seems that State BJP is waiting for court’s further direction as hearing was under way on Friday too and decision on resignation is yet not on cards, sources told.
Acting on the High Court’s direction, FIR has been registered against the Tribal Welfare Minister Vijay Shah in the State. But the question of the said minister’s resignation for which the Opposition has intensified its protest in various parts of the State, including State capital where the grand old party has led a massive demonstration, is gaining ground. BJP State President V D Sharma dodged the question of resignation while Chief Minister Mohan Yadav indicated his resignation from the Cabinet is not on the cards.
CM said that the State Government will abide by the court decision, and further said that Congress has no right to speak on the issue.
Chief Minister Yadav on Opposition’s demand said that why they were silent on Siddaramaiah and the then Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s case. Congress can only level charges, he said.
As far as action is considered, the honourable court has given its order and following their direction action has been taken. As the wave of condemnation emerging from different parts of the State against the minister, party officials coincidentally were in Bhopal to discuss preparations for the Union Ministry of Culture’s three-day event to mark the 300th birth anniversary of Devi Ahilyabai Holkar. They deliberated on the issue of Shah at length and asked the latter to come to the party state headquarters the same day.
The top brass of the party, including Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav, President V D Sharma and Organisation General Secretary Hitanand Sharma, discussed the issue on Wednesday night it self and now they are waiting for court’s further order.
Reacting sharply on BJP Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah for his alleged and irresponsible comments, the Supreme Court observed that a person holding a Constitutional post must exercise restraint, especially during sensitive national operations like ‘Operation Sindoor’. “What kind of statement you (Shah) are making? Such a person holding a Constitutional office should be responsible. When this country is going through such a situation (Operation Sindoor). He has to know what he is saying. Just because you are a minister…,”

Congress stages massive protest
After the Madhya Pradesh Mahila Congress’ protest against Minister Vijay Shah in Bhopal, Congress workers and leaders in large numbers gathered on Raj Bhawan road in the morning. Since late night there was high security at Raj Bhawan, a Congress delegation led a massive protest over Vijay Shah’s controversial remark on Colonel Sofiya Qureshi. On Friday, a delegation led by Congress leader and Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar sat infront of Raj Bhawan demanding resignation of Tribal Minister Vijay Shah for his objectionable ‘gutter’ language referring to a senior woman army officer. Huge police force and their vehicles were deployed to arrest the protesters in case of violating set rules. Congressmen were in black attire symbolising confrontation over the said minister’s remark. They were forcibly taken in to bus and some Congress leader can be heard saying “Sena ka apman kiya jaraja hai” Congress MLA Jaivardhan Singh from the window of the bus reiterated that action are being taken against those who are talking about sena’s samman (army’s respect). Sources said that in view of his tribal background and hold among tribal people, it is not easy for any political party to ask for resignation.
