Golden jubilee year celebrations of Basoli group conclude at Bal Jagat
“Basoli is a manifestation of divine perfection present in two lakh Basolikar children,” said Dr Vedprakash Mishra, Pro-Chancellor, DMIMS, while speaking at the concluding ceremony of the golden jubilee celebration of Basoli group. The programme was held at Bal Jagat auditorium, Laxmi Nagar on Sunday.
Basoli group celebrated
the golden jubilee year with various workshops, art exhibitions, and seminars on theme of ‘Basolichi Nilai’ that brought together generations of Basoli group together.
Bhagwan Rampure, renowned artist from Solapur, was present as chief guest for the programme. Chandrakant Channe, renowned painter and founder of the Basoli group, also shared the stage on the occasion.
Dr Mishra, in his presidential address, emphasised the importance of work being done by Basoli group in nurturing the humanity.
He said, “Alvin Toffler had warned in 1993 that the way humanity is relying more and more on scientific innovations, it is heading towards a robotic society and with it, the humanity will pay the price of fossilisation of emotions. And in such a time, Basoli is keeping alive the ‘Guru-Shishya’ culture in Nagpur.”
He also called Chandrakant Channe a modern day sage for his service to society in the last 50 years. It’s a thing of wonder how sages like Vashishtha, Vishwamitra may have lived on this earth. But citizens of the city can look at Chandrakant Channe, who can be called a modern day sage,” stated Dr Mishra.
Chandrakant Channe, in his address, said that he is the richest person in the world as he has two lakh grandchildren. He appealed to the parents to being more friendly and accommodating of creativity of their children. He said, “Ignoring children and giving them the free hand is secret of my success.
I let their creativity speak. I ask them not to draw by watching a picture, instead watch the surroundings and draw by imagination.” He also informed that the theme colour of blue is dedicated to late Rajni Dandekar, who had supplied a box of various shades of blue for the first workshop of the Basoli group.
The programme also featured publication of ‘Rangrangile Chhailchhabile’, a special edition of Basoli by the hands of dignitaries and young members of the group. The programme also featured felicitation people who contributed to success of Basoli group and achievers in various fields. The notable personalities include Madhusudan Chaubey, Sanjay Pendse, Vishnu Manohar, Sadanand Borkar, Nitin Kalbande among others.
Bhagwan Rampure and Vishnu Manohar also addressed the gathering. Mangesh Bawase introduced the dignitaries. Madhura Bhad and Meghna Gore compered the programme, while Madhura Bhad proposed a vote of thanks.
