Combine team of Crime Branch and Belbagh Police nabbed a drug peddler and seized 3.14 kg Ganja from him amounting to Rs 63,000 from him. Mohammed Maaz Gani (22), a resident of Vaijnath Para village, Raipur in Chhattisgarh.
SHO of Belbagh police station, Rajkumar Khatik informed that late night on May 17, Crime Branch received information that a young man wearing a full-sleeved white t-shirt, a pink scarf, and blue jeans was waiting near the water tank at Dangal Maidan with a black backpack containing illegal stock of ganja for selling it.
Acting under the NDPS Act, a combine team of Crime Branch and Belbagh Police started a search in the identified area and nabbed the suspected youth. In the questioning, the suspect identified himself as Mohammed Maaz Gani, a resident of Vaijnath Para, Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
After informing him of the legal grounds, the team searched his bag and found two packets wrapped with brown tape containing illegal stock of Ganja weighing around 3.14 kilograms amounting to Rs 63,000.
Belbagh police have arrested the accused and seized the illegal stock of Ganja and under Section 8/20 of the NDPS Act has been registered against him. Further investigation is underway to trace the source and supply chain of the seized narcotics.
The arrested was made by the team comprising SI, Vijay Singh Dhurve, Head Constables Premlal Vishwakarma, Vineet Srivas, Constables Mohit Rajput, Manish Baghel and under the guidance of SHO, Crime Branch Shailesh Mishra. Supporting team includes ASIs Kailash Mishra and Mohan Tiwari, Head Constables Hitendra Rawat and Mohan Singh, and Constables Pankaj Singh, Ritesh Shukla, Ranjeet Yadav and Pramod Soni.
