It was a day of pride once again for the residents of Chitrakoot holy town as on Friday, President of India Droupadi Murmu honoured Jagadguru Rambhadracharya, Tulsi Peethadheeswar, Chitrakoot with the 58th prestigious Jnanpeeth Award for the year 2023 in a grand ceremony at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi. Jagadguru Rambhadracharya is founder and lifelong Chancellor of Jagadguru Divyang Rajya Vishwavidyalaya, Chitrakoot. He is eminent litterateur and head of Tulsi Peeth Ashram, Amodvan situated in Chitrakoot. Acharya Ramchandra Das, successor of Jagadguru Rambhadracharya, was present at the felicitation ceremony. Expressing happiness over this achievement of Jagadguru Rambhadracharya Maharaj, he said that Guruji's contribution to the education and literature of Divyang people is timeless. It may be recalled that in the year 2015, Swami Rambhadracharya was honoured with the Padma Vibhushan, India's second highest civilian honour.

 

He has been honoured with the Sahitya Academy Award for Sanskrit, Shrivani Alankaran, Banbhatt Award and Vachaspati Award for his epic ‘Sribhargavaraghavyam’. Eminent citizen of the area have expressed happiness on Jagadguru Rambhadracharya Maharaj receiving Jnanpeeth award. It may be mentioned that the founder of DRI, much revered Nanaji Deshmukh, has been posthumously awarded Bharat Ratna in year 2019. He was also awarded Padma Vibhushan in year 1999 by the Govt of India.

 

Along with this, in the year 2025, the Padma Shri award has presented in the field of medicine to Dr. BK Jain, Director of Shri Sadguru Seva Sangh Trust Hospital Janakikund Chitrakoot, Chitrakoot. Prof Dr. Shishir Pandey, VC, Jagadguru Rambhadracharya Divyang Rajya Vishwavidyalaya said that by honouring Gurudev Jagadguru Rambhadracharya with the Jnanpeeth Sahitya Puraskar, the entire university family is happy on this achievement and are proud of it. Padma Shri Dr. Budhendra Kumar Jain, Trustee and Director Shri Sadguru Seva Sangh Trust Hospital Chitrakoot said Jagadguru Shri Rambhadracharya has given new consciousness and energy to the world with his incomparable contribution in the field of education and literature.
