The CGST and Customs Nagpur Zone, in collaboration with the FIT India Campaign, organised a cycle marathon on Sunday, marking the countdown to the 8th anniversary of the Goods and Services Tax (GST).
The marathon was flagged off by the chief guest K C Johny, Chief Commissioner, CGST, Central Excise & Customs, Nagpur Zone. On this occasion Dr Amit Samarth, a renowned international cyclist, graced the event as guest of honour.
The departmental officers led by Nilkanth Shelke, ADG, DGGI Nagpur, participated in the marathon. Citizens from the city also joined in the event.
Held under the theme “GST: Simplifying Taxes; Empowering Citizens”, the event celebrated the successes of GST while also highlighting its role in streamlining business operations, improving compliance, and fostering a transparent tax system in India. The programme was organised by Mukul Patil, Additional Commissioner, CGST, Nagpur.
