ACP Anita Meshram to lead the SIT n DCP Rahul Madne asked to monitor the investigation
Commissioner of Police Dr Ravinder Kumar Singal has constituted a Special Investigating Team (SIT) to investigate the offences registered in teachers’ recruitment scam. Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Sadar Police Station, Anita Meshram will lead the SIT.
The members of the SIT include Senior Police Inspector of Sadar Police Station Manish Thakre, Senior Police Inspector of Cyber Police Baliram Sutar, Police Sub-Inspector of Sadar Police Station Abhijeet Chikhlikar, Assistant Police Inspectors of Cyber Department Vivek Lamture, Dattatray Ninave, Amol Dodalwar of Sadar Police Station, Sanjay Yadav of Sadar Police Station, Jitendra Pathade of Cyber Police.
In the teachers’ recruitment scam, the offences under sections 420, 465, 468, 471, 472, 409, 120 (B), 34 Indian Penal Code were registered at Sadar Police Station while some offences have been registered under Information Technology Act. Considering the vastness of the scam, police feel number of accused would increase and the offences registered should be investigated thoroughly.
Dr Singal asked the SIT to investigate every offence seriously. Deputy Commissioner of Police Zone 2 will be monitoring the investigation and submit the progress report to the office of Commissioner of Police.
Recently, District and Session Court, after hearing the arguments from Adv Nikhil Kirtane
gave bail to Deputy Director Ulhas Narad, who was the major officer allegedly involved in the scam. Police are investigating the scam and the involvement of some more people likely to come to the fore. Government has taken serious cognisance of the Nagpur scam and trying to find out whether such scam exists in other parts of the State.
