In an energetic and patriotic display, thousands of women of Sanskardhani, on Tuesday organised a grand ‘Sindoor Yatra’ to honour the significant contributions of women soldiers in the success of Operation Sindoor. The Yatra was carried out under the guidance of Saint Gyaneshwari Didi and led by Sumitra Valmiki, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha. The procession began from Shaheed Bhagat Singh Square (Katanga Chowk) and culminated at Adi Shankaracharya Square (Chhoti Line Phatak). Women carried the national flag in hand and raised spirited slogans like ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’, ‘Vande Mataram’. Large portraits of Bharat Mata, Akhand Bharat (Unified India), Colonel Sophia Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh were also included in the Yatra. Sisters from the Janaki Band energised the crowd with moving patriotic songs.

Addressing a huge gathering of women, MP Sumitra Valmiki praised the Indian Armed Forces for decisively defeating Pakistan-backed terrorism. She said India has responded in its own language to those terrorists who tried to take away the sindoor of our sisters in the Pahalgam attack. Valmiki said just as we struck back during the Uri and Pulwama attacks, the nation has once again responded strongly to threats in Pahalgam. Valmiki emphasised that India’s leadership has made it clear to the world that the country will no longer tolerate terrorism. “Anyone who supports terrorism will be considered an enemy of India and will face consequences,” she declared. Highlighting the equal role of women in national defence, she said they are walking shoulder to shoulder with men.

Our matri shakti (women power) is standing tall to protect the nation. The recent Operation Sindoor has shown that no terrorist or enemy can harm us while our women are guarding the country, she added. Prominent amongst the senior Bharatiya Janata Party leaders participated in the Yatra were District President Ratnesh Sonkar, MLA Abhilash Pandey, former Mayor Swati Godbole, Rammurti Mishra, Ashwini Paranjpe, Rupa Rao, Abhay Singh Thakur, Anju Bhargava, Madhubala Rajput, Tanushree Singh, Vani Ahluwalia, Seema Singh, Suman Yadav, Archana Agarwal, Priyanka Shrivastava and others.
