CANNES, a symbol of global glamour, cinema and star-studded elegance witnessed a rare and stirring moment this year as Juhi Vyas, a proud daughter of Chhattisgarh walked the iconic red carpet not just in style, but in solidarity with a planet in crisis. Representing India alongside her National Director Mohini Sharma, Juhi became the face of Greenpeace India’s ‘Voice of the Planet’ campaign using world’s most glamorous platform to shine a light on the most pressing issue of the present time ‘Climate Change”.

Her gown, created by acclaimed Vietnamese designer Nguyen Tien Trien, was not just a piece of haute couture, it was a burning statement. Draped in fiery reds with ember-like textures, the dress symbolised a world on fire, rising temperatures, relentless heat waves and the harsh realities of climate injustice. The message called out polluters and demanded accountability.

Excited over spreading her concerns globally, Juhi Vyas said, “This isn’t just fashion, this is a voice for the voiceless. For those losing homes to floods, for children gasping in toxic air, for future generations who deserve better. As a mother, this is personal. I owe it to my child and to the planet, to speak up”. Juhi Vyas and Mohini Sharma’s appearance was not just a walk, it was a wake-up call. They used Cannes to spotlight the plastic crisis, ocean degradation and the urgent need to ratify the High Seas Treaty. Their message on Red Carper was ‘Fashion can be more than beauty, it can be resistance, responsibility and revolution’. This proud moment for India and Chhattisgarh proves that even voices from small towns can echo across global stages when stitched with purpose, and worn with courage.
