TRIO of Samridhi Gomase, Nidhi Patil and Tirthak Jawane returned with a medal each from the 7th State Level Taekwondo Cadet Championship that was held in Nashik recently. The event was organised by Taekwondo Association of Maharashtra. Samrudhi won silver competing in the above 59 kg category while Nidhi’s silver came in under 41 kg group.

 

Tirthak had to be content with a bronze that came in under 78 kg category. All the three are members of Vande Mataram Sports Academy, Gotad-Panjari, Nagpur that is run by Betiyan Shakti Foundation Nagpur. Tanishka Alone from the club was also selected for the competition. With the aim of encouraging players from rural areas, training for various competitions is provided through the academy. President of Betiyan Shakti Foundation Shridhar Ade, all officials of Vande Mataram Sports Academy, Nagpur Taekwondo Association, Group Gram Panchayat’s Harichandra Sarpanch and members of Green City Housing Society have congratulated all the players, trainer Rahul Pundlik and Yogesh Patil.
