Staff Reporter :
The Jabalpur Municipal Corporation (JMC) is carrying out sewer line installation and road restoration work in the city. To review the progress of these works, Municipal Commissioner Preeti Yadav held a meeting with concerned senior officials, consultants and contractors.
Expressing displeasure over the slow pace of work, Municipal Commissioner Yadav issued stern directives to the contractors, instructing them to complete the laying of sewer lines and associated restoration work by May 30. Similarly, she asked to complete the house connections by June 30 and reported accordingly. She warned that failure to meet these deadlines would lead to strict action.
During the review meeting, the Municipal Commissioner stated that penalties would be imposed on contractors who fail to complete the projects within the stipulated timeframe.
She also directed that the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the proposed sewer works under the AMRUT 2.0 scheme, currently submitted for state-level approval, be expedited through the concerned consultants.
Municipal Commissioner Yadav further expressed dissatisfaction with the progress of water supply projects under AMRUT 2.0. She instructed the contractor to expedite the work by increasing labour and machinery as needed.
Emphasising adherence to deadlines set by the state government, she stated that any delay will not be tolerated. The Municipal Commissioner also instructed both contractors
and department Engineers
to complete the restoration
of all roads damaged during the works before the onset of the monsoon, to prevent accidents and avoid inconvenience to the public.
