In a significant operation, the Tila Jamalpura Police in Bhopal arrested Raiesh alias Golu Ansari, a 22-year-old notorious criminal who had been absconding for six months on Wednesday. Acting on a tip-off that Ansari was brandishing a sharp sword near Islamic Gate Ground, causing fear among locals, a police team swiftly raided the location.
Upon spotting the police, Ansari attempted to flee but was apprehended after a strategic chase. A sharp sword was seized from his possession, leading to charges under sections 25/27 of the Arms Act, with a case registered under crime number 125/2025.
Additionally, Ansari was wanted in a permanent arrest warrant issued by the Court of Brijesh Kumar Chasouria, JMFC, in a case (4363/14) involving charges under Sections 327, 324, 34 IPC, and 25 Arms Act. He has an extensive criminal record with 31 cases, including charges of assault, theft, extortion, and violations under the Arms Act, Excise Act and SC/ST Act, registered across Tila Jamalpura, Mangalwara, Gautamnagar, and Chhola Mandir police stations. The operation, conducted under the guidance of senior officials, was led by Inspector D P Singh, with commendable efforts from Sub-Inspector B P Vishwakarma, Head Constables Megh Khatri and Naresh, and Constable Aniket. The accused has been presented before the court for further legal proceedings.
