Three notorious thieves arrested for stealing jewellery from women auto passengers

In a significant breakthrough, Kamla Nagar Police arrested three notorious thieves involved in stealing gold and silver jewellery worth approximately Rs 3 lakh from women passengers travelling in an autorickshaw. The police also seized the autorickshaw (MP04 RA 8132) used in the crime, driven by one of the accused, Mateen, a resident of Kavit Pura.
The mastermind, Nasir alias Sutkesh alias Nasiruddin, a habitual offender from Tila Jamalpura with 45 criminal cases against him, including theft, assault, and murder, was apprehended along with his accomplice Abdul Kalam Ansari. Another accused, Majid from Putli Ghar, who has 15 criminal cases against him, remains absconding.
The arrests were made following a complaint by Durga Dwivedi, who reported the theft of her jewellery, including a pair of gold earrings, a gold pendant, a mangalsutra, a gold ring, and a pair of silver anklets, valued at Rs 3.5 lakh, after travelling in the auto from Rani Kamalapati station. Acting on the complaint, the police reviewed footage from around 200 CCTV cameras, leading to the identification and interrogation of the suspects. Mateen confessed to the crime, revealing the involvement of Nasir, Majid, and Abdul Kalam.
The recovered items include a pair of gold earrings, a gold pendant, a mangalsutra, and a pair of silver anklets, collectively worth Rs 3 lakh. The operation was conducted under the guidance of police Commissioner Harinarayanachari Mishra, Additional Commissioner of Police Awadhesh Goswami, Deputy Commissioner of Police Priyanka Shukla, Additional DCP Rashmi Agarwal Dubey and Assistant Commissioner of Police Chandrashekhar Pandey. The Kamla Nagar police team, led by Inspector Nirupa Pandey, along with Sub-Inspectors Shailendra Singh Kushwah, Mithlesh Bhardwaj, and other personnel, played a commendable role in cracking the case.
