Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai reached Border Security Force (BSF) camp located at Basing village under Orchha block of Narayanpur district on Friday. Chief Minister Sai encouraged the jawans, who had killed 27 Naxalites in an anti-Naxal operation conducted by DRG-BSF and district force against the Maoists in the border hills of Narayanpur, Dantewada and Bijapur on May 21. He said that the morale of the jawans is higher than even the inaccessible mountains. In the decisive battle against Naxalism, the soldiers have displayed amazing courage and valour in the operation. With the high spirits of the soldiers, the day is not far when Naxalism will be wiped out from Bastar, said Sai. Addressing the jawans at Basing Camp, the Chief Minister said that this is the biggest action till date against Maoist in which the security forces killed 27 Naxalites including hardcore Maoist Basava Raju. The Chief Minister felicitated the jawans by applying tilak on their foreheads. He asked the jawans that they have an important role in bringing peace and tranquility in Bastar.
 
The Chief Minister flagged off 50 motorbikes of the security force for patrolling. Chief Minister Sai said that the way the Security Forces carried out the operation by making a high-level strategy and achieved success is praiseworthy. He saluted the courage of the jawans in the anti-Naxal operation. The day is not far when the stigma of Maoism will be completely erased from the forehead of Bastar. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah have pledged to completely eradicate the Naxal problem from the country by March 2026, and it seems to be getting fulfilled. Chief Minister Sai further said that the day is not far when Bastar region will be completely connected with the development of Chhattisgarh. Expressing hope, he said that in the interior areas of Bastar, where it was not possible to go till a few years ago, now there will be speed in the implementation of education, health, public welfare programmes and construction work.
 
Chief Minister Sai made various announcements including construction of culvert in Murhapdar village at the cost of Rs 20 lakh, approval of playground for Basing at the cost of Rs 10 lakh, approval of repair of Bal Ashram and secondary school in Basing at the cost of Rs 10 lakh, new Anganwadi Bhawan in village Murhapdar and Ehnar at the cost of Rs 24 lakh, approval of 500 meter CC road from Haat Bazar to Basti in village Basing at the cost of Rs 25 lakh and approval of Rs 15 lakh for new Ghotul in Kundla, Basing and Murhapdar villages. Addressing the jawans, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma said that the operation was a historic success of the jawans that is being appreciated at the national and international level also. He said that now a big and positive change is going to happen in Bastar which will take Bastar on the path of development and progress. During this, the Chief Minister presented LED sets and gift hampers to the jawans.
 
On this occasion, the jawans involved in the operation gave information about the preparations and strategy made to the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister. Earlier, the jawans displayed the weapons recovered from the Maoists after the encounter, which included various types of weapons including BGL launcher, 12 bore gun, .303 gun, 7.62 rifle, 5.56 mm INSAS, AK-47 and 9 mm carbine. Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap, Director General of Police Arun Dev Gautam, Additional Director General of Police (Naxal Operations) Vivekanand Sinha, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Subodh Kumar Singh, Secretary to Chief Minister Rahul Bhagat, Bastar Divisional Commissioner Doman Singh, Inspector General of Police Sundarraj P, DIG Amit Tukaram Kamle, Narayanpur Collector Pratishtha Mamgain, Superintendent of Police Prabhat Kumar, other senior officers and villagers were present.
