Terming his remarks on Colonel Sofiya Qureshi a ‘linguistic mistake’, Minister Vijay Shah sought forgiveness stating “I sincerely apologise to the entire Indian Army, sister Colonel Sofiya and all the countrymen for the words I said inadvertently and once again with folded hands I apologise.”
His plea has already been turned down by the Apex Court and formed an SIT to probe the case against him. A couple of days ago, a three-member SIT was formed on the direction of the Supreme Court directions.
The team is expected to submit its findings to the Supreme Court during the next hearing on May 28.
Amid all these, Madhya Pradesh Tribal Affairs Minister Vijay Shah on Friday issued another public apology.
The minister who was also in news for wrong reasons in past too and he had to tender resignation for making objectionable comment against the wife of the then Chief Minister.
He had also used derogatory language against girls students.
This time it seems hard for him to have a easy escape. Opposition has constantly raising the issue against the minister for his remark against the woman army officer. They are demanding nothing lesser than resignation. A section of society and various organisations demonstrating in State against the minister. On Friday, Shah released a video statement saying “I was deeply saddened and disturbed by the gruesome massacre that took place in Pahalgam earlier. I have always had immense love for my nation and respect for the Indian Army. The words spoken by me have hurt the community, religion and countrymen, it was my linguistic mistake.” “My intention was not to hurt or offend any religion, caste or community. I sincerely apologise to the entire Indian Army, Sister Colonel Sofiya and all the countrymen for the words I said inadvertently and once again with folded hands I apologise,” the Tribal Affairs Minister further said.
