DR DILIP Mohanty, President (HRM) of Jayaswal Neco Industries Ltd, Nagpur said, “Quiet quitting” refers to employees doing only what is required, without extra effort or engagement. They do not resign but mentally withdraw. Root causes include burnout, lack of growth, poor management, or the need for better work-life balance.
“Organisations need to address both employee needs and toxic management practices to create productive workplace culture is key to fostering engagement and retention,” said Dr Dilip Mohanty while speaking at session on ‘Quiet Quiting-HR Scale’ conducted by VIA HRD Forum and NIPM Nagpur Chapter, recently.
He explained that employees generally fall into two categories: those in difficulty, who are genuinely struggling due to personal, professional, or health-related issues and whose negative, resistant, or toxic behaviour disrupts team dynamics.
