INDIAN badminton star Aakarshi Kashyap secured a thrilling victory in her opening match at the Thailand Open 2025, defeating Japan’s World No- 37 Kaoru Sugiyama in a hard-fought contest with scores of 21-16, 20-22, 22-20. Kashyap, backed by CSR support from NTPC Korba, showcased determination and resilience in a match that stretched over three intense games. Her performance marks a strong start to her campaign at the prestigious BWF World Tour event.
 
“I am thrilled to have won my first-round match here in Bangkok,” said Kashyap. “It was a challenging game against a formidable opponent, and I’m grateful for all the support I’ve received. I look forward to carrying this momentum forward.” She now advances to face Thailand’s World No-9 Supanidha Katethon in what promises to be a high-octane second-round clash tomorrow.
