The Bharatiya Janata Party, Metropolitan Unit organised a ‘Viraat Kavi Sammelan’ on the occasion of 300th birth anniversary of Devi Ahilyabai Holkar, at Shaheed Smarak Auditorium on Sunday. State Public Works Department Minister, Rakesh Singh was the chief guest programme. District BJP President Ratnesh Sonkar Presided over the event, while Member of Parliament Ashish Dubey and MLA Ashok Rohani attended as special guests.

 

Renowned poets Sumeet Ji from Orchha, Deepshikha Rawal from Neemuch and Rana Muni Pratap from Chhatarpur enthralled the audience with stirring verses on valour, patriotism and Indian culture, earning resounding applause. Addressing a huge gathering of party leaders, workers and locals, PWD Minister, Rakesh Singh said the life of the venerable Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar was dedicated to the welfare of the people.

 

Her governance was rooted in the principle of ‘Sarvajan Hitaya, Sarvajan Sukhaya’ for the good and happiness of all. She viewed power as a tool for service and her exemplary life remains a guiding light for all of us. Prominent amongst those also present on the occasion were BJP General Secretaries Pankaj Dubey and Rajneesh Yadav, JMC Chairperson Rinku Vij, former Mayor Swati Godbole, Rammurti Mishra, Sandeep Jain, Ashwani Paranjape, Rohit Jain, Santosh Jaiswal and a large number of citizens and poetry enthusiasts.
