Controversial leader Manohar Dhakad has been arrested by the police for performing obscene acts and dancing with a woman friend on the Delhi-Mumbai 8-lane expressway, on Sunday afternoon. The leader was filmed in a compromising act with a woman on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. The video, which has since gone viral, has led to a social media storm and prompted swift action from police authorities. It is said that two videos of the politician recently went viral where the duo were seen in an inappropriate position at a public place.

 

The FIR was filed against Dhakad and the woman involved under sections 296, 285, and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS). As the viral video, allegedly recorded on May 13, shows a man and a woman outside a white car, involved in an explicit act at a public place. The act was captured by surveillance cameras on the expressway, has since circulated widely across all social media platforms. Authorities are also investigating the intention behind the videos and who else may have been involved in their creation and distribution.

 

A case was registered against Dhakad at the Bhanpura police station on May 23. At the initial raid by police at his home, only the vehicle which was identified in CCTV footagewas seized while the accussed was absent and Dhakad was untraceable since the video surfaced. Authorities had to launch a manhunt. The BJP, meanwhile, has made efforts to distance itself from the incident, reiterating that Dhakad is not officially linked to the party, despite his wife’s elected position as a BJP supported candidate.
