GHRCE receives DST grant of Rs 63 lakh for 2 projects

GH RAISONI College of Engineering (GHRCE) has achieved a remarkable milestone by securing a Rs 63 lakh grant under the DST-FIST programme and DST-TDP awarded by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. DST-FIST (Fund for Improvement of S&T Infrastructure) Scheme will enable the college to establish world-class research infrastructure and foster innovation with wide-reaching benefits for students, faculty, and society at large.
 
The grant is set to revolutionise facilities at GHRCE, supporting multidisciplinary research in emerging fields such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Biomedical Engineering, and societal development. Apart from this, the DST-TDP (Technology Development Programme) grant on the topic ‘Design of a multipurpose agro system using Swarm Intelligence’ will foster research in the field of agriculture.
 
This initiative will not only enhance postgraduate and doctoral research but also pave the way for impactful contributions to regional and national development The DST-FIST project is spearheaded by Dr Sachin Untawale, Principal Investigator (PI), with a dynamic team of Co-PIs: Dr Santosh Jaju, Dr Dinesh Padole, Dr Vibha Bora, Dr Rahul Agrawal, Dr Nilesh Nirwan, whereas the PI of DST-TDP grant is Dr Kapil Jajulwar. The upgraded infrastructure will strengthen the research ecosystem in Central India, enabling local students and faculty to access advanced laboratories, computational tools, and scientific resources. By fostering collaborations with industries, hospitals, and academic institutions, the initiative will address challenges in healthcare, agriculture, and education specific to Vidarbha region.
