The Bhopal Division of Indian Railways, as part of its ongoing efforts to promote innovation and public engagement, has announced a unique national competition inviting citizens to design a digital clock for Indian Railways. The initiative aims to install uniform digital clocks across all railway stations nationwide. The Railway Board is organising this first-of-its-kind competition, open to the general public, school students (up to Class 12), college/university students, and professionals. Participants can submit their designs online from May 1 to May 31. According to Dilip Kumar, Executive Director (Information & Publicity), Railway Board, the competition is divided into three categories: school students, college/university students, and professionals.

The best design across all categories will receive a grand prize of Rs 5 lakh. Additionally, five consolation prizes of Rs 50,000 each will be awarded in each category. Submissions must be high-resolution, watermark-free designs sent to the email [email protected], accompanied by a concept note and an originality certificate. The process is entirely online. Saurabh Kataria, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, emphasised that the competition reflects Indian Railways’ modern approach to time management and public participation. Citizens, students, designers, and artists from the Bhopal Division are encouraged to seize this opportunity to contribute to redefining ‘time’ for Indian Railways and earn national recognition.
