A 30-year-old intoxicated woman created chaos at Ram Cooler Square on Friday morning after she hit a man on a two-wheeler. The woman, a final-year MBBS student and a resident of Nag Bhoomi Layout, Rana Pratap Nagar, behaved aggressively not only at the accident site but also later at the police station and hospital. According to Kotwali Police, the woman had gone to a pub with a friend late on Friday night. The two reportedly drank alcohol throughout the night and slept for a short while. Early in the morning, the woman experienced hunger pangs. Both decided to go out for a breakfast in her car. She was driving when they passed through Ram Cooler Square around 10 am. At the square, an electrician on a two-wheeler was heading to work.

The woman failed to notice the man resulting in her car hitting his motorcycle. The man fell on the road. Instead of helping him, she stepped out of the car and started shouting and abusing him. A large crowd gathered at the spot was shocked over her behaviour, said police. Despite police reaching the spot, the woman refused to calm down. She argued with the officers. Women constables were called to pacify the drunk woman. They took her to Kotwali Police Station, but she continued her aggressive behaviour there as well. She created a scene at the police station also, and shouted at the officers. Later, the police took her to Mayo Hospital for a blood test.

However, she again caused disruption. She refused to allow the doctors to collect her blood sample. Hospital staff and nurses had to step in to help manage the situation. After much difficulty, doctors were finally able to take the blood sample. The incident has shocked both the police and the public, especially given that the woman is studying to become a doctor. The Kotwali police have registered a case against her under Sections 281, 324(4), and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with Sections 184 and 185 of the Motor Vehicles Act (MVA).
