‘The Hitavada’ has been a pioneer in raising the issues faced by the citizens that help the authorities to spot the shortcomings and take necessary corrective measures. In yet another such instance, ‘The Hitavada’ had raised the issue of potholes on the stretch of the road from Reliance Petrol Pump near Outer Ring Road to Sable Lawns on Old Kamptee Road on April 8. Taking cognisance of the news report, the authorities concerned have started the work to repair the pothole-ridden road. The stretch of the road largely witnesses traffic from Kamptee and nearby areas as most of the commuters head towards Kalamna market and also Nagpur city.

The road is also used by the transporters from Kalamna market. Heavy traffic on the road has resulted in its wear and tear and creation of potholes. The problem of potholes on the road got worse on the stretch between Reliance Petrol Pump and Sable Lawns. The nearly 300 metres stretch has many potholes that makes commuting a difficult task. The single lane road also meant that the commuters were forced to come in the path of oncoming traffic from the opposite side to avoid the potholes, which had caused several accidents on the spot. Sheikh Shahanawaj, General Secretary, North Nagpur Youth Congress; Ganesh Dhurve, Vice-President; Samir Sheikh, and Naeem Sheikh had demanded immediate solution to the problem. The authorities concerned, taking a serious note of the issue, have started repair works on the pothole-ridden road. Once completed, the road will make life easy for commuters.
