Kanker boy Akhil Sen tops in 12th board exam
Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE) announced the results of the Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination-2025 and High School Certificate Examination-2025 on Wednesday.
In the 10th board exam, Ishika Bala, a student of Government Higher Secondary School Gondahur, Kanker, and Naman Kumar Khntia, a student of Swami Atmanand Government Utkrisht English Medium School, Jashpur, secured the first rank by scoring 99.17%. Livyansh Dewangan, a student of Swami Atmanand Government Utkrisht English Medium School, Balodabazar, obtained the second position with 99%. Riya Kevat of Balod district, Hemlata Patel of Raigarh district, and Tipesh Prasad Yadav of Jashpur district secured the third position with 98.83%. The merit list for Class 10 includes 85 students.
A total of 3,28,716 students had enrolled for the 10th board exam. Out of these, 3,23,094 students appeared, comprising 1,45,141 boys and 1,77,953 girls.
A total of 2,45,913 students passed, resulting in a pass percentage of 76.53%. The pass percentage for girls was 80.70%, while for boys it was 71.39%. In the 10th board exam, 1,26,654 students (39.41%) passed in the first division, 108,290 students (33.70%) passed in the second division, and 10,966 students (3.41%) passed in the third division. Three students passed in the pass category, and the results of 30 students were withheld. The examination forms of 1765 students were cancelled. The pass percentage for the 10th board exam last year was 75.61%.
In the 12th board exam, Akhil Sen, a student of Government Higher Secondary Koda Gaon, Kanker district, secured the first rank by obtaining 98.20%. Shruti Mangtani, a student of Vijay English Higher Secondary School, Manendragarh, secured the second position with 97.40%. Vaishali Sahu, a student of Swami Atmanand Government Utkrisht English Medium School, Berla, Bemetara, secured the third position with 97.20%.
The merit list for Class 12 includes 19 students. A total of 2,40,422 students had enrolled for the 12th board exam. Out of these, 2,38,626 students appeared, comprising 1,01,184 boys and 1,37,442 girls. The results of 2,38,045 students were declared. A total of 1,94,906 students passed, resulting in a pass percentage of 81.87%.
The pass percentage for girls was 84.67%, while for boys it was 78.07%. In the 12th board exam, 1,00,544 students (42.23%) passed in the first division, 88,841 students (37.32%) passed in the second division, and 5,516 students (2.31%) passed in the third division. Five students passed in the pass category, and the results of 62 students were withheld.
The examination forms of 515 students were cancelled. While releasing the results, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai congratulated all the successful students, including the toppers, and wished them a bright future. He also encouraged the students who did not pass to try again and congratulated all the teachers for the good results. MLA Motilal Sahu, Secretary of the School Education Department Siddharth Komal Singh Pardeshi, Secretary of CGBSE Pushpa Sahu, and other officers were present at the result announcement.
