SANKALP Football Academy and Nobel Football Academy made it to the quarter-finals on opening day of the Inter-Academy Under-13 Boys’ Football Tournament organised by Nagpur District Football Association. The tournament is being played at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Football Academy in Suyog Nagar, North Nagpur. In the first match of this 16-team knock-out tournament, Sankalp defeated Deputy Director Sports and Youth Services (DDSYS) Football Academy 6-5 via tie-breaker after both the teams were locked at 1-1 at the end of the 60-minute match. DDSYS FA took the lead in the 29th minute when Avinash Mahajan booted the ball in from a close range. Sankalp were helped to draw parity when Shlok Thakre conceded an own goal just two minutes into the second half (32nd).

 

In the tie-breaker Sankalp managed to find the back of the net on five occasions while DDSYSFA scored four. For Sankalp FA, Sthila Dash, Arardhya Kunte, Reyansh Gandhi, Ansh Yadav and Arman Adhana scored while for DDSYS FA, Ayush Shahu, Tathagat Dhongle, Athang Bagde and Shlok Thakre scored. In the second match of the morning, NSA blanked Railways Boys Football Academy 3-0. For NSA, Shrivansh Charde (30th), Akshad Sangolkar (34th) and Likhit Sontakke (47th) scored the goals.
