Acting tough against violators, the Nuisance Detection Squad (NDS) of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has once again registered cases against shopkeepers and traders. The NDS squad has taken action against 40 cases of public nuisance, including littering, spitting, and using banned plastic bags on Tuesday and imposed a total fine of 44,500 on them. The squad registered 21 cases of littering against shopkeepers and collected fine of Rs 8,400 for littering on roads, footpaths, and open spaces.
 
The squad imposed a total fine of Rs 1,600 on them. Similarly, 19 cases of obstructing traffic by erecting tents and stages were registered and a fine of Rs 25,500 was imposed. One case of a workshop littering on roads, footpaths, and open spaces was recorded, and a fine of Rs 1,000 was imposed. One case of dumping construction debris on public roads, footpaths, and open spaces was also recorded, and a fine of Rs 1,000 was imposed. In addition to this, 10 cases of individual nuisance were recorded, and a fine of Rs 2,000 was imposed. Five cases of institutional nuisance were recorded, and a fine of Rs 5,000 was imposed. The action was taken under the leadership of Veersen Tambe, Head of NDS. The squad also took action against several individuals and businesses for violating norms, including using plastic bags less than 79 microns and littering on roads and footpaths.
