IIT Bhilai signs MoU with University of Siegen Germany
In a significant move towards strengthening Indo-German academic and research ties, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bhilai has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Siegen Germany.
The MoU aims to promote joint research, academic exchange and collaborative projects between the two institutions. A major highlight of this partnership is the establishment of a Joint Centre on ‘Sensors’, which will be set up at IIT Bhilai.
The Centre will serve as a hub for cutting-edge research and innovation in sensor technologies, co-managed by experts from both institutions.
The signing ceremony took place at the University of Siegen, where the heads of both institutions formally signed the agreement.
The event was graced by Dr. Banerjee, representing the
Indian Embassy in Germany, who commended the initiative as a meaningful step in deepening bilateral cooperation in science and technology.
Speaking on the occasion, Professor Rajiv Prakash, Director of IIT Bhilai, expressed that this collaboration will provide students and researchers with valuable global exposure and access to advanced infrastructure and expertise in sensor technology. This MoU is expected to open new avenues for interdisciplinary research and innovation, contributing to the global knowledge ecosystem and industrial applications in areas like healthcare, smart infrastructure, and environmental monitoring
