The Government Residential School for Scheduled Caste and Nav-Buddhist students in Varegaon in Kamptee, has been conferred with the Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Social Justice Excellence Award. The award was presented at a ceremony held at the Yashwantrao Chavan Sabhagruha in Mumbai in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde; Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar; Social Justice Minister Sanjay Shirsat; Minister of State Madhuri Misal, Principal Secretary Harshadeep Kamble, and Social Welfare Commissioner Pravin Puri. The award was received by Regional Deputy Commissioner Dr Siddharth Gaikwad, Assistant Commissioner Sukeshini Telgote,
 
Headmaster Vilas Gaikwad, and Shubhangi Khaprekar. Under the guidance of Devendra Fadnavis and Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, various facilities have been made available at the school. Nagpur District Collector Dr Vipin Itankar has also visited the school and provided guidance from time to time. The school offers various facilities to the students and offers education in astronomy, mathematics, language, robotics, virtual reality, music, computer, and science. It also has laboratories, e-library, science park, adventure park, open gym, and a large playground. The school building is spacious and well-maintained, and students receive free textbooks, educational materials, uniforms, and track suits.
 
The school also provides residential facilities with balanced meals, modular kitchens, purified drinking water, and other amenities. The school is the first in the State to have a science and adventure park. The school focuses on the overall development of students, with a emphasis on discipline, cleanliness, health, and cultural activities. There are currently 200 students enrolled in the school. For the past five years, the school has consistently achieved a 100 per cent pass rate in the SSC board exams, with students securing positions in the merit list. The school’s success is attributed to the collective efforts of its teachers and non-teaching staff, who work tirelessly to ensure the students’ overall development.
