A MAN in Bhilai threw hot oil on
a woman after she refused marrying him. The victim, a folk artist,
had returned home after attending a programme in Uttar Pradesh
and after she refused marrying
the accused, he threw hot oil on
her face.
The victim has suffered burns
on her face and chest while the
police after recording her statements have launched a hunt to
arrest the culprit. Chhaoni

Navi Monika Pandey confirmed
the incident saying that the hot
liquid thrown on the victim
woman was oil.
The victim Shakuntala (34),
wife of Babulal Markandey is a
resident of Nehru Chowk, Camp1, Chhaoni, Bhilai. Meanwhile
the accused Rakesh, son of
Dhanaram is his neighbor. Police
informed that Shakuntala is a folk artist and she returned from Uttar Pradesh after giving performance there on Thursday.
At about 16:30 hrs while the victim was talking to her daughter
Harshita in front of her house, the accused came there and again
asked her to marry him. He had previously too proposed her for
marriage and when Shakuntala again denied marrying him, the
accused turned violent.
