THEY are undefeated in the
competition till date and Yash
Kadam-led Pagariya Strikers will
look to doing an encore when
they take on Jitesh Sharma-led
Neco Master Blasters in the final
of the Vidarbha Pro T20 League
on Sunday night.
Both the
teams have
registered
close semifinals wins
on Friday
and will try
to lay their hands on the coveted title Sunday mid-night with
an improved performance.
Pagariya Strikers are on a roll
this maiden VPTL season and
have won all their matches (total
six).
They topped the table with
five out of five wins and then
beat Orange Tigers with four balls
to spare in the semi-finals
through.
The batting department is led
by Dhruv Shorey and Mohd Faiz.
Though Shorey has a quite outing in previous game, he would
love to score big in the match that
matter. Mohd Faiz is in fine form
with a few half centuries under
his belt. He along with Aditya
Ahuja and captain Kadam will
take control of the middle order.
All-rounder
Ashit Singh showed
tremendous talent with both bat
and ball and will be the man
Master Blasters would love to see
his back. The bowling department is handled by top wickettaker Lalit Yadav and Dipesh
Parwani, the two seamers who
have troubled the batters in
whole tournament. Spinner
Kaustubh Salve will also be an
important bowler for Pagariya
Strikers.
As for Neco Master Blasters,
they have a solid batting line-up
with wicketkeeper-batter Vedant
Dighade and Adhyan Daga at the
top. Run machine Aryan
Meshram, who missed another
half century in the semis by a single run, will aim to carry his form.
The middle-order is manned by
skipper Jitesh and back-in-form
R Sanjay who has been a linchpin of the side this opening season. Their bowling, too, looks
sharp with Praful Hinge and
Sanmesh Deshmukh spearheading the pace department
along with Arya Durugkar and
Ananmay Jayaswal.
R Sanjay has been turning out
to be an all-rounder with his gentle spin bowling. He has taken
wickets in the middle to break
the partnerships. It would be an
interesting battle and the team
holding nerves would emerge
victors and take the trophy home.
In the women’s final, Nagpur
Titans will take on Orange
Tigresses slated to begin at
2:45 pm.
