In a shocking incident, bodies of a woman and two children were found inside the house in Kumhar Tola of Mehandwani headquarters on Friday night under Mehandwani police station of Dindori district. The deceased have been identified as Madhu Prajapati wife of Rajendra, (35), daughter Shivani (12) and son Aditya (10). Giving information about the case to police, husband Rajendra told that when he reached home at 8 pm on Friday night, he found all three hanging from the noose. According to husband Rajendra, hands and feet of both the children were tied with cloth and Rajendra brought all three down in a hurry.

After this, police were informed. On the basis of the statement and the spot report, the case is initially being considered as a suicide. But due to children’s hands and feet being tied, police are also investigating other aspects. As soon as the information was received, FSL, dog squad and police team reached the spot and investigated thoroughly. At present, the house has been sealed. As soon as the information was received in this regard, a pall of gloom has descended in the area. According to information, deceased Madhu’s husband Rajendra Prajapati runs a samosa cart at Mehandwani bus stand. It has been told that Madhu was at the shop till Friday afternoon and after making samosa masala, she went home in the evening. Rajendra has told that when he reached home at 8 pm, both the children and wife Madhu were not seen in the house.

During this, when there was no response even after calling, Rajendra first looked in the kitchen, where on not finding anyone, he turned to the other room, which was locked from inside. When there was no response even after knocking on this room, Rajendra got worried and peeped through the window and found that his wife Madhu, daughter Shivani and son Aditya were found hanging from the ceiling fan hook. After which Rajendra broke the back door and went inside and brought all three down. By then it was too late and all three had died. According to husband Rajendra, he and Madhu got married in a marriage ceremony in 2011. His wife Madhu was mentally ill for some time. She complained of insomnia, lack of appetite and body pain. It is said that Madhu’s treatment was also going on and along with this, tantric remedies were also done. Despite this, Madhu was not getting relief.

According to the information, there was no discord of any kind in Rajendra’s family and everything was going on normally. After the post-mortem all three bodies have been handed over to the family. As soon as the information of the incident was received, Mehandwani police station, Shahpura SDOP, Mukesh Avindra and senior officers reached the spot. The entire house was sealed as the scene was not clear at night. In the morning, the FSL team, dog squad and Superintendent of Police, Vahini Singh herself reached the spot and after doing the Panchnama proceedings, an in-depth investigation has been started.

SP Vahini Singh said that the incident happened late at night and at present it seems to be a case of suicide, but due to the children’s hands being tied, the case is suspicious and all aspects are being investigated. This tragic incident has shocked the entire area. There is an atmosphere of mourning and panic among the villagers. Only after the police and FSL report will it be clear whether it was a suicide or there is some other deep conspiracy behind it.
