Addressing the group of entrepreneurs at a session organised by the Vidarbha Management Association (VMA) at Chitnavis Centre, Civil Lines on Sunday, Vinod Saboo, Director of Saboo Plastics Pvt. Ltd., said that dreams become reality when we break them down into achievable steps.
He was guiding the participating members of the VMA on the topic “Big Dreams, Less Capital’ what to do?”
Saboo emphasized that starting with a clear roadmap helps in achieving dreams within a set time frame. Speaking to budding entrepreneurs, especially those with big dreams but limited resources, he shared practical and realistic advice.
Saboo highlighted the importance of gaining support from one’s family — emotionally and financially — as it forms first and strongest support system.
He encouraged learning from successful visionaries, whose stories reflect resilience and ambition. He also suggested openly discussing the business plans with trusted friends who can offer honest feedback, support, or even financial help.
“This gives you a fresh perspective and helps improve your plans,” he said.
Saboo advised the entrepreneurs to live a simple life until debts are cleared and to stay focused on repayments. Saboo also stressed on building a resilient team and surrounding oneself with problem solvers who remain committed during tough times.
“Look for investors who align with your vision. Develop a funding strategy that doesn’t compromise your goals,” he added.
He also advised improving public speaking skills to communicate clearly and gracefully. Good communication, he said, opens doors and strengthens your vision.
“Let your work speak louder than rumors,” he said. He concluded by advising entrepreneurs to move steadily like a tortoise, not rush like a rabbit, and aim to improve just 1 per cent every day. Being a trustworthy borrower, maintaining good repayment records, creating standard operating procedures (SOPs), and valuing staff suggestions are key to building a successful and respected business. Moderator of the session was Nilesh Verma while session in charge was Pankaj Radke.
