Durg district has achieved a big success in the direction of water conservation. Here, recharge soak pits were constructed simultaneously in 1200 houses of the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in just two hours. That too without any cost. The big thing is that it costs about 3 to 5 thousand rupees to make each soak pit, this work was completed with public cooperation on the initiative and leadership of District Panchayat CEO Bajrang Dubey. Making soak pits in this way by people in their homes has in turn saved 30 to 60 lakh rupees of the government. This achievement has been included in the Golden Book of World Records. According to the information, the time for soak pit construction was fixed between 8 to 10 am.

The length, width, height of each soak pit was kept 2.5-2.5 feet. The main purpose of construction of this recharge soak pit is to conserve the water coming out of the houses and flowing from the roof. District Panchayat CEO Dubey said, the construction cost of recharge soak pit is approximately between Rs 3000 to 5000, but the said work was completed with public cooperation without any cost.
