MP GIRLS TRIUMPH
MAHARASHTRA boys and
Madhya Pradesh girls were
crowned champions at 4th
National Sub-Junior Dueball
Championship that concluded
at the Vidarbha Hockey
Association ground recently.
Maharashtra boys and Madhya
Pradesh girls won the top honours after a series of electrifying
matches.
The event, hosted under the
joint leadership of Firoz Khan,
Founder of Dueball, and Arunpal
Singh Behal, President of
Vidarbha Dueball Association,
witnessed participation from top
state teams across the country.
The boys final was a nail-biting encounter between
Maharashtra and Vidarbha. It
ended 7-7 in regular time.
A sixminute extra time period saw
Maharashtra edge pastVidarbha
with a final score of 11-9. Prajwal
of Vidarbha dazzled spectators
with 5 goals, while Madhavir of
Maharashtra led his team’s
charge with 3 goals.
The semi-finals witnessed
intense competitions.
Vidarbha defeated
Pondicherry, while Maharashtra
overcame Madhya Pradesh to
book their spots in the final.
In the girls final, MP dominated the match, defeating
Vidarbha with a convincing 4-0
scoreline. Abhilasha netted two
goals, while Naina Sahu and
Saniya contributed one goal each
to seal the victory.
In semis, MP beat Goa, and
Vidarbha triumphed over Tamil
Nadu.
Behal congratulated both
Vidarbha boys and girls teamsfor reaching the semi-finalsand praised their spiritedperformance throughout thetournament.
The prize distribution ceremony was graced by Syed Nawab(Secretary, Dueball Federationof India), Firoz Khan, ManzurBaig (Secretary, RajasthanDueball Association), Riyaz Qazi,Renu Sidhu (noted athlete), andveteran dueball playersGursimran Kaur, Sagar Shivhare,Sunny Bajwa, Rimpy Bajwa,Firdos Khan (Asia Dueball), andHabib Khan.
The championship highlighted the growing popularity andcompetitive spirit of dueballamong young athletes, withNagpur once again proving to bea vibrant hub for sports development in India.
