Sehore Shocker: Man held for brutally killing girlfriend in Satkunda jungle

A chilling case has emerged from Budni, Sehore district, where a man identified as Krishna Kant alias Chhotu was arrested for brutally murdering his 21-year-old girlfriend, Ankita Patil, after luring her with false promises of marriage. The victim, a resident of Betul, was found dead in Satkunda jungle on June 15. On June 15, police recovered an unidentified woman’s body in Satkunda jungle and sent it for post-mortem. The report revealed that Ankita died due to stab wounds on her stomach and neck inflicted by a sharp weapon, sparking widespread shock in the area. Following a missing person’s report filed at Shahpur police station in Betul, police identified the deceased as Ankita Patil from Pahabadi village.
 
Her family disclosed that she was in contact with Krishna Kant alias Chhotu. During interrogation, Chhotu confessed to the crime, admitting he killed Ankita because she was pressuring him to marry her. He lured her to the jungle under the pretext of discussing marriage, where he attacked her with a knife and stone. Police, led by DSP Chain Singh Raghuvanshi and Sub-Inspector Sandeep Jat, recovered the bike used in the crime, a blood-stained knife, and Chhotu’s mobile phone. A case has been registered against him under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code and provisions of SC/ST Act. The arrest, aided by technical evidence, marks a swift resolution to the gruesome murder that had rattled the region.
