As per the vision of Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav, a state-of-the-art high-tech Gaushala (cow shelter) is being developed in Umaria by the Jabalpur Municipal Corporation (JMC) under the leadership of Mayor Jagat Bahadur Singh.
On Sunday, Mayor Singh along with State Urban Administration and Housing Department Commissioner Sanket Bhondve, Additional Commissioner Dr Parikshit Jhade and Municipal Commissioner Preeti Yadav inspected the progress of on-going work.
During the inspection, the Mayor briefed Commissioner Bhondve on the unique features of the Umaria Gaushala. He stated that it is set to become a new landmark for the Sanskardhani. Mayor said the project, envisioned by the Chief Minister will soon be a reality.
The Mayor informed that the grand inauguration of the Gaushala will be carried out on the occasion of Gopashtami during the Deepotsav celebrations, in the presence of thousands of citizens and dignitaries.
Highlighting the project’s major attractions, the Mayor said the Gaushala complex will include a clean, scenic pond with boating facilities, ample plantation, a cafeteria and decorative lighting.
An initial tender worth Rs 5 crore has already been issued for the first phase of construction.
The high-tech facility is proposed to accommodate between 6,000 to 10,000 cattle, with operations managed through modern automated systems. Spread across 51 acres, the project will be developed at a total cost of Rs 20 crore.
The Mayor also discussed with Commissioner Bhondve the planned utilisation
of byproducts such as cow
dung and urine, with necessary facilities to be developed accordingly.
