Porwal emerge U-15 football champs

 

 

 

KAMPTEE’S Porwal Football Academy quelled the challenged from a spirited Koradi Football Academy as they went on to clinch the Inter-Academy Under-15 Boys Football Tournament on Monday. The tournament was organised by Nagpur District Football Association at its Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Football Stadium in Suyog Nagar. In an exciting final, both the teams failed to score in the regulation time. In the tie-breaker, Porwal emerged winner with a 3-0 verdict. The ball rolled both the halves but forwards of Porwal and Koradi failed to find the back of the net. In the ensuing tie-breaker, Farhan Ansari, Nehal Akhtar, Ameer Hamza and Aown Mahudi scored for Porwal. For Koradi, Soham Band, Samayak Birode and Nirbhay Bhange missed their chances.

 

The winning team won a glittering trophy and a cash prize of Rs 5000. The runners-up got Rs 3000 and a trophy. Prizes were distributed by Atmaram Pande, Vice-President NDFA in presence of Haresh Vora, President, NDFA. Secretary Iqbal Kashmiri, General Secretary Stanley Gregory; Hemant Sahani, Dr Kamal Ansari, AB Khan, Khalid Ansari, Ravi Francis, Ankush Bhadange and others were also present. The programme was conducted by Mohd Mubin. INDIVIDUAL AWARDS Player of the tournament: Soham Band (Koradi FA); Man of the match: Mohamamad Ayan (Porwal FA); Best player from runners-up team: Himanshu Parshuramkar (Koradi); Best Goalkeeper: Junaid Alam (Porwal); Best Defender: Humayal Sheikh (NDFA Academy); Best Half: Gourang Jeotia (Nobel Academy).
