Two deaf and dumb children, aged 5 and 6, who went missing from Aradhana Nagar, Bidgaon on Saturday evening, were found safe after a massive search operation that lasted nearly five hours. The children - originally from Bihar -had come to Nagpur just 15 days ago to stay with relatives and were unfamiliar with the area. According to police, the boy and girl were last seen playing outside their house around 5 pm. When they did not return, their family members panicked and informed the Wathoda Police Station at around 9 pm.

The children’s physical descriptions and photos were immediately shared with the City Police Control Room and nearby police stations. Police Commissioner Dr Ravinder Kumar Singal and other senior officers took immediate charge and deployed multiple teams, including beat marshals and Detection Branch squads. Local citizens also joined the search. Announcements were made through police vehicles, and the children’s details were circulated widely through social media and messaging apps. A local resident informed the police that the children were seen near the railway bridge close to a water body. A search team rushed to the spot.

However, they were not found in the water. Finally, around 2.30 am, both children were spotted walking along the railway tracks near Chhatrapur Farm, nearly 2–3 km away from their home. Police teams and local volunteers brought them back safely. The children had wandered off and lost their way, unable to call for help due to their condition. Senior officers, including ACP Narendra Hiware, PI Harish Borade, PSI Madhav Gundekar, and others led the operation. Local citizens such as Sachin Dhomane, Prajwal Wasnik, and Gudu Shewane also played a key role in the search. The children were reunited with their families.
